Polite notice - withdrawing from competitions
Recently the committee have had several late withdraws from the Men’s competitions some without notification. If you are to withdraw please either let the golf shop know or better still a committee member before the competition draw is made. Competition draws for the Men’s section are made on the Friday prior to the competition.
If you are to withdraw on the morning of the completion please phone the golf shop or a committee member before 08.00 am on the morning of the competition. This is not ideal but will enable the committee to alter the draw before the competition starts.
Failure to notify the committee can result bans from future competitions.

Notice of Local rules change - Permanent
Due to confusion over embedded balls in plugged lies and the rulings surrounding this, the main committee members have made an addition to the local rules. From 22nd April 2013 any embedded ball not in a hazard but within the boundaries of the course can now take a free drop without penalty.
The ball must firstly be marked and then it can be lifted and cleaned. The plug mark can then be repaired. The ball must be dropped from shoulder height as near as possible to the spot where it lay but no nearer the hole. If the ball runs into a hazard or is closer to the hole, the drop must be re-dropped. If the ball runs into a hazard or is closer to the hole on the re-drop the ball is then placed as near as possible to the spot where it first embedded, but no nearer the hole.

1st September 2016
Notice of Local rules change – Permanent
Due to confusion over where to take free drops from the cart path on the right side of the 9th hole, the committee have made an addition to the local rules.
From 1st September 2016 for any ball that comes to rest on the 9th hole cart path relief must be taken on the inside of the cart path. No relief can be taken from the outside of the cart path. Therefore, free drops will only be made to the left side of the cart path, as you play the hole. However, you will still have the choice to play the ball as it lies rather than take the free drop.
The drop must be made no nearer the hole within 2 club lengths of the original ball position. When dropping, stand erect, hold the ball at shoulder height and arm’s length and drop it.
If the ball rolls back onto the cart path, out of the 2 club length’s or comes to rest nearer the hole than its original position the ball must be re dropped. If the ball is dropped for a second time and rolls into any of these conditions again you must place it where the ball first struck the course when re dropped.
